Maintenance purge -> totals are not recalculated

Hi,

I have a multisite deployment and it turns out that the statistics of a new site I created is appending on an old site that was removed, resulting in wrong history statistics. (WP and plugins are all up to date.)

The first issue is that apparently, removing a site from a multisite deployment does not remove the statistics data for that site, which feels like a bug.

In an attempt to rectify the situation, I tried to use the purge settings under maintenance, and that helped, but the total amount of visits and visitors is still counting the visits from the old site. I guess I understand why purging does not reset the all-up totals, but in my case I do need to remove all the old statistics, including the totals.

By the way, this is actually causing some privacy concerns since wpstatistics shows the new site owner rather confidential user information from the old site. ??

Any help on this would be appreciated?
