Hi! Our site has been up for a while but has ALWAYS been in maintenance mode, using the Maintenance plugin. If you visit the home page, you’ll get the default Maintenance plugin page. However, some bots have “found” some default/sample blog posts despite the site being in maintenance mode.

Any ideas why this might be? I don’t care much since we’ll delete all the sample content once the site is built, but I’m concerned that blog posts are accessible even though the site is in maintenance mode using the Maintenance plugin.

I’m using the latest version of the free plugin on WordPress 6.0.2.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

Maintenance uses the standard template_include hook to display the Maintenance page instead of the normal one and we’ve had no issues with that so far. But it looks like in your case another plugin is forcing the content to be printed earlier and both the normal page content and the Maintenance page end up being printed.
We will add to our ToDo list to see if we can clean up any previously printed content before the Maintenance page is displayed.
