I have used the plugin on my other site, and need to use it on my site that I’m developing at the moment.

When I activate it, the site is still available? I have cleared my Cache, is there anything else that’s causing it?

    Thanks

    Paul

  • Hello @whateverbatch,

As far as I see, you’re using Endurance Page Cache and sometimes his clear cache mechanism is not working as intended.

Try to remove all content from wp-content/endurance-page-cache/ or deactivate the cache plugin to see what happens.

    Hi George,

I was not aware of this plugin, I Googled it and it seems like it comes with my BlueHost hosting?

I have de-activated the BlueHost plugin, but my WP-Maintenance Mode is still not working?

    Thanks

    Paul

    Hello @whateverbatch,

Endurance Page Cache is still deactivated? Because I see this line in your pages:

    <!–Generated by Endurance Page Cache–>

Also, have you tried to remove all content from wp-content/endurance-page-cache/.

I’m asking because WPMM works fine on new pages: https://bit.ly/2I5Sd1y

    Hi George,

I have deactivated the BlueHost plugin which I believe installs the Endurance Page Cache?

The only thing I can find in my File Manager is

    whateverittakes
    /cgi-bin
    /wp-admin
    /wp-content
/mu-plugins (this has 4 Endurance PHP files in, can these be deleted?)
    /plugins
    /themes
    /upgrade

The page that you have created is great, how did you do that, it’s a page on my site?

@whateverbatch I think you should ask them (BlueHost support) why you can’t get rid of their plugin.

The page that you have created is great, how did you do that, it’s a page on my site?

It’s a 404 page. It doesn’t really exists, but the plugin is displaying the maintenance page. ??

The page that you created has all the text in the ‘manage bot’ settings, how did you add this without the admin login?

@whateverbatch as I already said, it is a 404 page. Everyone can access a 404 page, without having access to your admin login… because the page doesn’t really exists.

What is a 404 Page Error?

    Hi George,

Thanks for the reply, I am aware of 404’s.

I have managed to disable Endurance Cache after conversations with BlueHost.

My WP Maintenance Mode is working now with the ‘Bot’ chat, I have tried to make it more personal, although I have edited and saved it, cleared my Cache, the old ‘Bot’ chat still appears?

    What have I missed?

@whateverbatch have you changed the settings from “Manage Bot” tab?

I’m asking because the bot settings file (https://bit.ly/2jHyoQH) doesn’t seem to be updated.

    Hi George,

I have changed them to make it more personal to my site?

    thanks

@whateverbatch Check the error logs (from cPanel) because that file should be updated after you hit “Save” changes on “Manage bot” tab.

Also, compare the content of the file from FTP (wp-content/uploads/data.js) with the one (https://bit.ly/2jHyoQH) served by the web server. Are they identical?

My guess? That file is updated and the web server is loading an older version of it.

    Hello @georgejipa, how are you?

I also can′t set the maintenance page to work. I am using the “Coming Soon Page & Maintenance Mode by SeedProd plugin” and Hostgator as the hosting company. My site: https://www.awdmd.com/

@ribeirom4e: you should ask on SeedProd support forum ??

    Hello again @georgejipa.

I am certain that the problem is not with their plugin, because I have tested many other plugins and none worked. I had the MOJO Marketplace plugin (which has a maintenance page function) installed through Hostgator and removed it and many other plugins to start fresh. Since them, no other maintenance plugin works.
