  • +1 on this issue. I’ve recently migrated from localhost to live server and the background images aren’t showing.

I am also having the issue of background images on Elementor-built pages not displaying on the host server. I am a newbie so please forgive me if I don’t use the terminology correctly. I’m developing 2 sites, one with OceanWP theme and the other with Astra theme, but I use the page builder, Elementor (free version) on both sites, and up to this point LOVE it! I’m developing locally then uploading site to the server after updates are finished. My local site displays perfectly, but the background images I’ve put in Elementor sections are NOT displaying on the host site.

It seems that the background image files are being referenced by their absolute path and not their relative path as you would think. Somehow, the relative paths are being used by all the other images I use on the sites, it’s only the images I’ve used as backgrounds that are affected.

I’m using a child theme and think my best option is to modify the appropriate …Elementor/CSS file and see if that works. Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it successfully?

@lsheridan Please try to use the Replace URL tool under Elementor > Tools.
Then regenerate the CSS files, via Tools > General.

Any idea what to do @boaz for those who have not transferred from dev to live domain?

I worked on the website from live on the same domain and never got the background to display. The text displays fine to public but not the background image.

Installing another maintenance plugin and the images showed up fine.
