In my travel-related website, Funky Fresh Travels, where I share my experiences, I face an issue with the lack of a “last updated” option below posts. This means that when I update a post after a few days, visitors cannot see when it was last updated. This absence can impact rankings because Google favors content freshness. Note that you are describing two different things. The date stamp at the end of the article is for human visitors to see when the last version of the past was published. For search engines like Google to see that content is being updated, the sitemap is used. As your site has the Rank Math SEO plugin installed, this is already generating a sitemap that can be read by search engines. if you look here, you will see that all the posts are listed with a last modified date. Also read here about how to manually submit the sitemap to Google through the Google Search Console. Working with the Search Console is considered good practice to monitor your site’s SEO and address any warning that are flagged. Good luck!
