Main Product Image Gets Lost When Choosing a Variation

    It’s intended that when selecting a variation, the image for that variation should replace the main product image, so that you can see an image of the actual product you are buying.

    As you mentioned, users can click ‘clear’ to remove their variation selection and view the main product image again.

    If you want to include that image with every variation, you’d need to add it to the product gallery as well as having it as the product image.

    Or use an extension such as https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-additional-variation-images/ and add it as a specific image for each variation.
