    Hi beginfromhere,

Sorry that you ran into issues here!

If by “big empty space” you’re referring to the layout issues with the buttons and field for the Quick Search Bar–yes, I agree that’s not ideal.

Something like that is best adjusted through custom CSS. You’ll probably want to change the button sizes, the text size or the field size (or all three) to compensate in a way that makes sense with your theme. Our CSS tries to do a good job but it can only go so far…

Here is an article about how to use custom CSS with Business Directory in a way that doesn’t get overwritten on upgrade of BD: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/how-to-use-custom-styles-with-bd-2-1/

Try that and let me know if you run into more issues.

Thank you for your help. I followed the steps to make a custom CSS file and add it to the root of plugin folder in wrodpress. When I add any CSS modification in the file, this doesn’t take effect, why ? can you give me as example, one CSS line to add it to the custom CSS file (maybe change button colour), just to test if it works properly?

By the way, if we want to buy your rating plugin, do you have an option to have a button, so when we click on we will see the listings by Rating, from the most rated and so on ?

The CSS you need to put in the file varies depending on:
    – The element you’re changing
    – What your theme adds to the HTML DOM element hierarchy
    – What is available either in classes or IDs to target

It would help to know what you tried, specifically.

Remember that CSS changes won’t appear right away if you have a caching plugin installed or your web host does caching. Also, your browser may cache things as well. You’ll want to confirm that you’re not seeing old data by using Incognito Mode or a Private Browser window to get the latest version of the page.
