Main page only shows thumbnails of featured images in posts, not first images

  • Hi,
    Our WP site has been using OceanWP for very long time as its main theme and we’re very fond of it. However, the theme version we have been using up until recently was very old, which we couldn’t upgrade due to few issues, with the following one among the rest. Now we were forced to upgrade to the latest version (3.5.5) due WP core upgrade. This presented few design quirks, with the worst one being the following:
    So back in the old version, our main page showed thumbnails from all posts, whether the post image was a featured image or the first image in the post. However, after the upgrade we only see the featured images on the main page, while posts that don’t have featured images don’t show any thumbnails.

    Thank you for reaching out,

    We have never shown the first image as a featured image on blog archive pages. To show the featured image on the archive page, you must set “Featured Image” on the edit page of each post.

    However, you can manage the ordering of the positioning of the elements on the single post to make a Featured Image as a first image by going to WP Dashboard > Appearance > Customizer > Blog > Single Post: https://postimg.cc/Z9sPz4qm.
