    Hi AJ,

I have a Post Type called Expertises made with PTU plugin. I’m not using an archive, instead there’s a main page set up.

This setup works fine with f.e. cases (for which I used portfolio CPT in Total). Breadcrumbs there nicely show: home > cases > name of case

But in Expertise I’m not getting this same result. Though the url shows the right path.
I get: home > name of expertise
I want: home > expertises > name of expertise

I have set the correct main page (expertises) for breadcrumbs, but it just won’t show. Am I missing something, does this Post Type created with the PTU plugin behave different from the ones allready in Total?

PS: site in under construction, no SLL there.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

I just tested the Main Page setting on Total 5.3.1 and it’s working for me – https://a.cl.ly/RBuygyZ4

On your site I do see the breadcrumbs is inside a templatera shortcode though so I wonder if that’s causing an issue. If you place the breadcrumbs directly on the page does it work?

Also, it’s hard to tell from looking at the site code, but I do see you are using Yoast SEO in which case if the breadcrumbs are using the Yoast Breadcrumbs (there is an option in the Customizer under the Yoast tab to switch to the theme breadcrumbs if you prefer) you may need to actually setup the breadcrumbs via Yoast if the output is coming from the plugin.

Just as an added note…I would HIGHLY recommend creating a dynamic template – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/dynamic-templates/ – for your custom post type so you don’t have to manually insert the breadcrumbs on each post and you can manage the design from a single place. I would be more than happy to log into your site and setup an example and record a quick video if you aren’t quite sure how to do that, just let me know.

ps: This plugin all it does is allow you to register post types all the extra settings are part of the Total theme and the code is in the theme so if you do have any issues outside of just registering the post types you can just ask me on ThemeForest or tickets. It’s up to you though ??

    Hi AJ,

Breadcrumbs are loaded everywhere in a dynamic template, on the link I’ve added I placed the page title and breadcrumbs from the theme. It shows the same issue. So it’s clearly not caused by templetara.

    I’ll open a ticket!

After checking again the issue indeed came from the Yoast Plugin. Everything is fine now. Thx!
