Main page contains too many posts

    I set to show 7 posts on page in the admin page Settings->Reading. But there are 15 posts on the main page (all posts from a start of my blog). It has a link to the previous page (example.com/page/2), but this page is the duplicate of the main page, so on to the page 3.
    What can I do to check this error?

  • Do you have a customized Loop in your index page?
    Are you sure you selected the “posts” not “days” in the options? (there were some reports about the “X days” feature not working properly…)

    I haven’t customized Loop in my index page.
    Switcher “days/posts” shows “posts” option, so “days” aren’t selected.

    In that case I don’t know what to say… ??
    Does it work if you switch to the deafult or classic theme?

    Sorry, I’ve seen the theme’s editor and remember that I changed index.php template from someone’s sample with a string “posts_per_page=-1”. You can delete this topic.

    No, we do not delete topics unless they break the rules posted on the main page.
    The information in the topic might be useful in the future for another forgetful user ??
