Main menu item not active (not colored, not underlined) with a submenu

thank you very much.
After reinstalling main menu item (with submenu) is colored in blue and underlined.
But when I click on the submenu of main menu item color and line is no longer displayed.
I would like to display main menu item colored in blue and underlined too when submenu is activated.

Still one question: I would like that submenu itmes are not displayed in the mainmenu. The submenus are connected to mainmenu under menu in wordpress. How can I hide them in Frontend?
