Main Image Not Appearing /Links

Help!
No matter what I do or change, an image that is on my first (main) page and links to my work, does not appear as an actual image. It is blank. When you click on it, it directs you to the project which has all the images I want users to see.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also,
Is there a way to connect “portfolio” pages to a page on my menu for navigation?
