    Hello Community,

I need some help. My WordPress multi-site is creating new sites for users that register for my main domain (which is also my network domain). We do not want to allow users to create new sites. Need this turned off.

It is creating new site with subdomain as the user’s name.

Under Settings – Allow New Registrations – User accounts may be registered is selected.

Users should be able to register, but we do not want users to get their own site and subdomain. What am I doing wrong? Should I have a different Network domain than the domain for my main site? Please help. Thank you!

Note: I have also tried turning off the setting “Allow New Registrations” and it still allowed registration and created a new site.

Ok, so I figured out the issue. I am using Forminator PRO (great plugin) for registering users via their form. In the settings under registration I found a setting for

“Network’s Main Site Role: Choose which user role you want to assign to the visitors signing up. You can either assign a fixed user role to all of them or assign a user role conditionally, based on their response to the form fields.”

    and

“Site Registration: Choose whether to allow site registrations on your multisite network and different related settings.”

It was enabled and new sites were being created by the plugin.
