MailTo option to open up in a new tab

    Is there a way to add a shortcode that will open up emails in a new tab.

    I just found the extension for URL’s and Emails to be converted to a link and am using this at the end of my shortcode:

    automatic_url_conversion=true automatic_url_conversion_new_window=true /]

    Although this does not do emails in a new tab.

    Is there a shortcode that will do the same to the phone number? allow for click and dial?

    Hi,

    thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

    Opening email addresses or phone numbers doesn’t really make sense. The “mailto:” or “tel:” protocol handlers are configured by the operating system, to be opened by whatever program is used for email or phone calls. Those can’t really be opened in tabs (except maybe if someone configured GMail as his email program for this maybe).

    If the user is on a mobile device, both phone numbers and email would be very helpful.

    Hi,

    I understand, and your email is already clickable, from what I can see. To make the phone number clickable, try adding it in a link like this:

    <a href="tel:+15556667777">(555) 666 7777</a>
