Mailto doesn’t seem to work for me

  • Hi. I used to use mailto a fair bit in my blogs, but it seems to have stopped working. My default client is Outlook and that’s set up fine but I’m starting to wonder if the theme might be my problem.

    Some of my earlier blogs had mailto links which definately worked – now they don’t.

    If someone could please check the link, you will see near the top of the article a button titled “Email test” which is there just to test it. Does this work for you? I have

    Do you have any ideas what the problem might be and what I can do? I’m not good with CSS.

  • I don’t know exactly what you mean by “working”, but I checked the link and I can confirm:

    1) The code is correct
    2) Clicking the link pops up a menu for me to select my desktop email software, as shown in the screenshot below.

    So it seems this does work.

    Note that CSS is for styling. It has nothing to do with a feature like this working or not working.

    Thank you for your response. That’s interesting. I re-linked Outlook as my client and it works now. I will do the same on my other computer shortly (as i had problems iwth that too). I get the feeling the theme might have done something – but I’m just guessing.
