I have a MailPoet2 database with a wp_wysija_user table. I have access to the table through phpMyAdmin and I’m trying to extract the data from the table, which contains our newsletter subscribers. We recently moved our website to a different host and away from WordPress, which means we don’t have wordpress backend access to the data anymore. The only access we have is the direct access to the database. However, though all the fields are decrypted the one field in the table; firstname seems encrypted. Is there a way to decrypt this field? Is the encryption key stored somewhere and is there a way to decrypt this field?

    Thanks!

    Hi @toometoo,

However, though all the fields are decrypted the one field in the table; firstname seems encrypted. Is there a way to decrypt this field? Is the encryption key stored somewhere and is there a way to decrypt this field?

I asked our dev team about it and they confirmed that MailPoet 2 does not encrypt any of its fields.

If there’s one field in your database that is truly encrypted, this could be caused by some other tool you’ve used or a specific way you have configured your database. Unfortunately, if you don’t have access to the WordPress backend to export this data again, I’m afraid we won’t be able to help you with this.

    Hi there,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
