• One of our clients uses MailPoet Newsletters on their WordPress blog. Currently, the client does not use the Double Opt-In feature, nor the Manage subscription page (though we have recommended it).

We recently encountered a situation in which a Subscriber accidentally hit the unsubscribe link in the newsletter footer. This person was unsubscribed from all lists and their status changed to Unsubscribe. The person then went back to the MailPoet Newsletter sign up form and attempted to re-subscribe.

The form submission worked and the user’s MailPoet status changed from Unsubscribe to Subscribe. But…the person was not added back to any lists, and as a result, no longer receives newsletter submissions.

Is this a bug in the plugin? Or is part of a MailPoet policy to prevent unsubscribed users from being signed up again without permission? What is the expected behavior when a user Unsubscribes and then attempts to re-subscribe?

    Thanks

  • Does your subscription form subscribe your users to a specific list or you are letting them choose which lists to subscribe to?

Our subscription form subscribes users to a specific list. We currently don’t allow the user to choose.
