Mailpoet sending PAST posts out to subscribers

Hello MailPoet team,
I was so excited to come across your plugin and spent sometime customizing it to my liking. I followed the instructions you provided on your site (really easy to follow) and had no problem sending myself tests.
I felt confident to activate my post notification and the first post I published (after activating MailPoet) was sent out! woohoo.
And then it happened. I started hearing from subscribers that they were receiving SEVERAL posts from me in a day! I logged on to find that it wasn’t just my latest post being sent out but EVERY post prior!
I have deactivated the plugin to prevent further issues.
Did I miss something in the set-up? I followed the instructions you provided but no where in it did it mention that it would send out past posts as if they were new.
