    I did an upgrade to Mailpoet 3 (3.8.3) today – and suddenly now am getting the following error:

    MailPoet Error: Unable to connect to the database (the database is unable to open a file or folder), the connection is likely not configured correctly. Please read our Knowledge Base article for steps how to resolve it.

    I found this KB article. I tried option 1 and that didn’t help. I’m on a shared hosting plan so Option 2 is not available.

    I tried deactivating/reactivating with no luck. I even removed the plug in and tried to install version 3.8.1 but got the same error.

    I need to send a newsletter but am unable to.

    So, I went to look today and it is working now. No database error… And the Mailpoet dashboard items are all there.

    I’m going to assume that there was some issue with the hosting company.

    Anyway, thankfully it fixed itself somehow.
