MailPoet disappears from dashboard
-
For the second or third time this week, each time a different website, I discovered that the MailPoet 3 plugin had disappeared from my dashboard. The MailPoet 3 Premium plugin was still there but useless. I tried to reinstall MailPoet but the installation failed and I discovered that the old MailPoet folder was still in the plugins directory. A search on Google revealed that “if MailPoet detects a problem, it disables itself.” THIS IS A KNOWN ‘FEATURE’. So why isn’t it mentioned in the Settings dashboard? If you search the question in the ‘Help’ chat in the plugin, you find the answer. But if the plugin has already disabled itself, you can’t search the chat. CATCH 22. And you can’t reinstall the plugin unless you first remove the old MailPoet folder via cPanel or FTP. Really MailPoet? I love your plugin but there has got to be a better way to handle this. How about simply deactivating the plugin and giving me an error message which tells me to delete and reinstall from the dashboard WITHOUT DELETING THE DATA?
