    (@web-studio-west)

When I send messages to a list of 400 people, MailPoet crashes the website for about 10 minutes. I assume that’s how long it takes to send the messages. Then the website will come back up. Messages sent to a small test list of 5 people go through immediately without any problems.

The website is on a VPS with low traffic. It’s a website for employees only.
    PHP version 8.0
    WordPress 6.0.2
    MailPoet version 3.96.1
    Send with: MailPoet Sending Service
Newsletter task scheduler (cron): I’ve tried both WordPress built-in cron & Visitors to your website. Same result.

I also tried Server side cron (Linux cron) but I couldn’t get MailPoet to connect. I tried to get help from hosting support but gave up.

    Please advise. Thanks!

    Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I understand your site keeps crashing unexpectedly. I’m sorry to hear of the frustrating experience! Are you able to pass along the specific error message you’re seeing when this happens so we can take a closer look?

My suspicion is that even though the crash might look like it’s pointing to MailPoet directly, it can actually be caused by some sort of conflict on the site with another plugin (or possibly your theme. You can learn how to do this by going here: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/204-how-to-test-for-plugins-conflict

Let us know if this helps!

    Cheers!

    Hi @web-studio-west,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

Your suggestion of disabling other WordPress plugins is a good one. I should have thought of that! I’ll try this when the client sends the next email blast but that will be in a couple of months. Thanks!
