Within WordPress, I have created a form using MailPoet so that when the user submits the form, they get added to an Interview List which triggers an email to be sent to them with instructions. The email is NOT being sent.

    Here’s what is definitely working:
    1. The Automation is set up correctly and is Active.
    2. The Automation updates a number under Total Entered and the same number under Total Exited every time I test this. There are 0 under Total Processing.
    3. The user is put in the Interview List after submitting the form.
    4. The user is getting a “Confirm your subscription to Run Your Story” within a minute of submitting the form. (This is not the email that was set up with the Automation. I did read that there is a Double Opt-In feature where users have to subscribe first before newsletters are sent, but I’m not sure if this affects Automations. Also, I’ve waited 20 minutes after confirming the email that was sent and still no Automation email was sent.)
    5. Under MailPoet->Settings->Send With, I’m using the MailPoet Sending Service with all checkmarks as green.
    6. Under MailPoet->Settings->Key Activation, there are green checkmarks for ‘Your key is valid’, ‘MailPoet Sending Service is active’, and ‘A test email was sent to [email protected]’.

What do you suppose is the hold-up preventing the Automation from working properly?

I used a personal email address when filling out the form. It sends me a “Confirm your subscription to Run Your Story” email of which I confirm but don’t receive any other email afterward. I noticed that I was signed up for two lists, the WooCommerce Customers and the Interview List. I decided to just remove my personal email from the Interview List and then manually add it back, but I just received the same email.

I then decided to use a completely different email that was not previously in the system. That email was send the “Confirm your subscription to Run Your Story” and then a minute after I confirmed, it successfully send the Automation email. Does this mean that users who have a previous account can’t get the Automation email???

    Hi there @greygaillard,

    Thanks for reaching out!

If a user entered an automation before and then re-subscribed, they won’t receive it again.

I tested your form and received the RYS Interview email after confirming my subscription. Is it part from your automation? If yes, I believe it’s working properly.

You can check which subscribers already received an automation in Automations > Edit > click three dots next to your email > Email Statistics > Subscriber Engagement > check Opened/Unopened tabs.

I hope this clarifies a bit, but please let us know if you have any questions!

It seems that Subscriber Engagement is a Premium feature as I’m not able to see it. And yes, the RYS Interview is part of the Automation and does work properly. I guess my only concern is if a user is already in the WordPress database, will that person receive both the confirmation email and the RYS Interview email, or just the RYS Interview email?

The confirmation email is triggered by submitting the sign-up form. Even if they are already a WordPress user on the site, and then fill out the form, then they would get that confirmation email sent to their address.

After that, the Automation would run based on the trigger you’ve configured. If they’ve join a list you’ve set in the automation, or are in a user role you’ve set in the automation, and have not been through the automation before, then they would receive that “RYS Interview email” from the automation.

    Hello Team,

this is not related to the question the thread was started about, but about mailpoet automation in general. I would like to use mailpoet to send my customers a series of emails around a specific date. Unfortunately, I am not able to see whether this type of automation is possible and don’t want to upgrade my plan without knowing if it serves my purpose.

The idea of the customer journey is as follows:

customer subscribes -> welcome email ->30 days to specific date another email gets triggered ->14 days to specific date one more email gets triggered -> 2 days before date email gets triggered ->7 days after date email gets triggered.

I know mailchimp can do it, but I would prefer to use mailpoet, if possible. If possible, please let me know which plan I would have to subscribe.

    Thank you very much,

    Ali
