• I use MailPoet to send an email to subscribers each time I post something new on my site. Today I was going through some past posts to fix a display error. When I saved the new version of the post, a “post notification” was sent to my subscribers. I updated about 4 or 5 posts before I realized this was happening. Please help to fix this glitch. I do not want to send multiple emails just for tweaking something on a post.

    Good morning, @wysija

    I just tested MP3 again this morning (using only myself as a subscriber) and it did it again. It is sending “new post” emails even when all I do is edit a past post.

    Maybe you have enabled the post notification functionality?

    https://beta.docs.mailpoet.com/article/210-video-guide-to-post-notifications

    That will send e-mails when you add a new post. I don’t know if it also sending a notification when you edited a post.

    (@mwgerard)

    @ecommany I want it to send an email when I make a new post, but ONLY ONCE. It is also sending an email when I simply edit an old post.

    You have already installed the latest versions of WordPress core and plugins?

    If you disable the post notification functionality in Mailpoet does the problem also disappear?

    Are you sure the notifications are from Mailpoet and not from Jetpack?

    Thread Starter mwgerard

    (@mwgerard)

    @ecommany

    All great questions, but yes, I have done those things. Yes, if I disable it, it stops, but the main reason I have MP is so that it will send an email to my subscribers when I post something new. It’s definitely Mailpoet. Additionally, I switched back to MP2 and it works fine again.

    Can you disable all other plugins and check if the problem still exists?

    Do you use the free or premium (paid) version of the plugin?

    (@mwgerard)

    Can anyone tell me if this bug has been fixed in the latest version?
    I have gone back to using MP2 to avoid this issue. As a reminder, MP3 is sending emails to my subscribers when I EDIT AN OLD POST as if I had written a new post.
    Thanks.

    I saw that MailPoet3 had a new update to I updated and activated and performed the tests. It is still sending “new post notification” emails when all I do is edit and save a post. For some reason MailPoet3 sees that as a new post. I would like to upgrade to MP3 but cannot with this bug. I had once again gone back to MP2 and hope this can be fixed.

    I am having the same problem. I simply updated a post and all my subscribers received “New Post” notifications. The only update I made to the post was to deselect “Make this post sticky” then selected Update. I’m beginning to regret using this plugin….

    Has there been any solutions for this issue?
    Mail Poet3: 3.23.1
    Wordpress: 5.1.1

    @mwgerard

    Similar to your problem, we’re trying to revise and do some SEO work on old posts, and would actually like to trigger the email post notification, but it WON’T work. We’re subscribed to the Premium version of the plugin, and thus have access to “premium” support, but we just get canned responses, like you’ve been getting here.

    SOOOO annoying. “It’s not our plugin’s problem, it must be a conflict with your theme or a different plugin on the site”. I’d like to talk to an actual developer with Mailpoet who will walk through things and truly troubleshoot, not just send lame “it’s not me, it’s you” responses.

    Same problem and it’s a shame this problem hasn’t been resolved during more than a year. Only in my case, I can’t make drafts. Every time I save a post as a draft, it sends the email with an error to the subscribers.
