• Just like this user, I host with Siteground, and just like this user I was not using “MailPoet’s own script” but the “Visitors to your Website” option. After installing to version 3 (non-beta), the CPU quickly rose to a ridiculous rate.

    Unfortunately I found out the culprit too late – Siteground have taken me offline twice and I’m lucky it hasn’t been more times!

    I’m not impressed that you quickly marked the ticket as ‘resolved’ even though both of us (and no doubt more) are in the same situation! Please fix!

  • @easternkicks I (Rafael) use MailPoet 3 daily on my own personal SiteGround account (and I was the first one to discover that CPU usage issue) and I never had any issues with the option: Visitors to your website. We’ve thoroughly tested those two options on all types of SiteGround accounts and only the option “MailPoet’s own script” brought the website down.

    What type of plan on SiteGround are you using (Shared Hosting, Cloud Hosting, Dedicated)?

    Shared WordPress hosting.

    The issue definitely seemed to happen with the update from beta to first full version. There was an incredible spike after the update.

    Throughout the option “Visitors to your website” was set by default. Maybe the admin doesn’t register that choice, even though it’s (visually) set? The only other potential part is that I also signed up at that point for the free send via Mailpoet – could that be the issue?

    Something’s going haywire and I’m not the only one this has happened to, as per my original post. Right now I’ve been penalised by Siteground for an issue this plugin caused.

    The use of our Sending Method doesn’t seem to be involved. Try selecting the option “MailPoet’s Own Script”, save your settings, then go back to the former option “Visitors to your website” and save the settings again.

    Please be careful with your statements. We’ve carefully tested the plugin to prevent such issues from happening. Let’s try to find out what happened to your specific case first before making further assumptions, okay?

    I don’t know why I should be ‘careful with my statements’. If your plugin does not keep the settings, how is that my fault?
