Hello, we have 3,000 subscribers for newsletters. We are connected to Mailgun through your plugin and right now we wanna test the solution.

I got this information from Mailgun:

    • A single API or SMTP request can have up to 1,000 recipients.
    • For API, the maximum amount of recipients per second is 100,000. The maximum amount of API calls per second is 200,000. Exceeding this limit results in rejection messages being returned for each additional API call until this threshold is reset.

I don’t know how the plugin handles API calls – I wanna make sure that next time we will send our newsletter to all 3,000 subscribers immediately and without problems. Thank you.

    Hi @kubazabran,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I apologize but it seems there might be some misunderstanding on the purpose of the WP Mail SMTP plugin. Please kindly bear in mind that this plugin is designed to send transactional emails such as:

    – Password reset emails
    – Welcome emails
    – Shipping notifications
    – Invoices
    – Purchase receipts
    – Account notifications
    – Form notifications (WPForms / Contact Form 7)

We don’t recommend using it to send bulk emails, newsletters, or for email campaigns.

To send newsletters in the way you described, I would suggest utilizing a different plugin that’s built for this purpose.

Apologies once again for the mix-up and I hope this helps provide some clarification.

    Thanks ??

Ah. WP Mail SMTP plugin is listed on The Newsletter plugin website (which is the plugin we use for creating newsletters), so I got impression your plugin is appropriate.

    Thanks for letting me know.

Anyway, can you let me know if there’s some limit for sending e-mails with Mailgun? We’ll replace it ASAP but it will take a while and this information would help.

    Thanks

    Hi @kubazabran,

Thanks for getting back in touch.

Yes, there are sending limits with Mailgun and these limits are dependent on the plan you have with them.

Please see the list of their current plans and the email sending limits for each of them here: https://www.mailgun.com/pricing/.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks ??

Thanks, but I’m asking if there are limits from your plugin’s side. All sorted with Mailgun, but is there a limit WP Mail SMTP can handle?

    Hi @kubazabran,

My sincere apologies as I misunderstood what limit your question was referring to.

Please kindly know that there are no email limits for WP Mail SMTP. The only limits that can affect emails going through our plugin are the limits set by the mailer and/or server.

I hope this helps answer the question.

    Thanks ??
