    Hi @suzzz,

    Most likely that means that you have not completed the Mailgun setup. Perhaps, not correct domain is used, or you haven’t finished setting up the domain.

    Please open our tutorial and go through step 2: Verify your domain.

    The account is verified properly. We have a sub-domain set up, web.mhfire.org. I am trying to send the text email to myself, and it is failing.

    It definitely seems odd that you’re still seeing an issue here, though like Slava mentioned we most often see this when there’s some kind of setup issue going on.

    As an example, I’ve seen this error caused by incorrectly copying the Mailgun API key into the WP Mail SMTP settings (I believe in that case, they accidentally included some white space).

    Though it can be pretty frustrating, would you please check back through all details like this in our tutorial to see if there’s any minor detail that could possibly need adjustment?

    If needed, you could also consider switching to a different mailer — however I’d recommend continuing to try and work with Mailgun if you’re willing to keep working through these steps.
