I have a MailGun in EU region setup and verified. Mailgun WordPress plugin 1.5.13.1 setup and configured. I can received the test mail from within the plugin.

However, when trying to send a mail from the front end via a Contact Form 7 mail form it gives out an error and mails are not received. What can be wrong?

What is the error you are receiving from Contact Form 7?
Can you check your error logs?

In the frontend I get the following message (freely translated from German):

An error occurred sending your message. Please try again later.

Unfortunately I have no access to any server logs. Is there a possibility from within WordPress?

Additional info: I used the plugin WP Mail SMTP before with the account in the US region. Worked fine but obviously it does not support regions yet. Migrated my domain to EU region and switched to your plugin today.

If WP Mail SMTP is still active, there might be a conflict between it and the official Mailgun for WordPress plugin. WP Mail SMTP is expecting the U.S. endpoint, but your account is configured for EU.

Just to clarify, we do not support third party plugins.

What type of access do you have for your WordPress install? SFTP?

If you can, please contact [email protected] or open a support ticket from the Mailgun dashboard for further assistance.

No, it is not active anymore. Just your official plugin. I could get SFTP access. Will open a ticket and handle it with support directly. Thanks.

Solved it. The Mailgun log said “Please upgrade or add the address to authorized recipients in Account Settings”, although the recipient was already in authorized. Maybe a “region problem”? I however, upgraded my account and now it works just fine.
