Mailer: Other SMTP SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.

    I’m using MailGun SMTP and using the Email Test screen on the plugin works fine.

    However, if I use wp_mail() with the same to, subject and body I get error “Mailer: Other SMTP SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.”

    I’ve tried everything to debug but no luck, any help appreciated.

    Thanks for reaching out!

    It might be that there is some code that changes the PHPMailer configuration and it’s causing conflict.

    I’d suggest using the API-based Mailgun mailer option (please, take a look at the screenshot) in this case.
