Hi, I found the instructions to add a name field to the MailChimp Top Bar. I found the php file and edited it to add the code you provided. I changed NAME to FNAME throughout that code and changed the code for it to show in front of the email address, not after it – all exactly as instructed.

But I’m not sure whether it needs to go in a specific place or something? Because it hasn’t made any difference – the Top Bar still shows up exactly the same as it did before, without the first name field. See https://testing.hrontap.co.uk/

    Please advise?

    Hi Hrontap,

The code needed to add a name field to MailChimp Top Bar needs to go into the functions.php file of your active theme.

Is that where you added it or did you perhaps add it to the code of the plugin itself?

Hi Danny, no I dug out the functions.php file through Filezilla and edited it in Wordpad.

    Hey hrontap,

Your method seems correct. Just make sure the code was added to the “functions.php” file in your active theme. And also, make sure to upload it after you edit it.

Hi, finally got it working, yay! It does make a difference where exactly in the functions.php code you put it. I tried 4 different places and eventually it worked ??
