mailchimp plugin update caused payment gateway to be hidden

    wordpress site was working fine until i had two failed payments on my woocommerce site

    couldnt figure out what had happened as payments were working fine until that point and i hadn’t been on wordpress to change any settings

    after hours of searching and googling, i decided to disable all plugins aside from woocommerce and stripe.

    turns out both my mailchimp plugins were causing the issues which were:
    – hiding the payment gateways such that customers were unable to enter card details, checkout via apple pay or paypal
    – hiding my dropdown menu such that you could see the menu button, but the dropdown would not work when you clicked

    now both plugins are disabled, the above is working fine.
    – MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress
    – Mailchimp for WooCommerce.

    i, of course, want my mailchimp plugins active again as this is how i manage my subscribers but they will remain deactivated until someone can help me figure out why on earth they were causing this error?!

    Hi Isobel,

    Are you using our Premium add-on? Or just the free plugin?
    If you just only deactivate MailChimp for WooCommerce, and activate MailChimp for WP, does everything work as normal?

    Note that we are not the company behind MailChimp for WooCommerce, and no issues are known with us regarding failed orders when using the MailChimp for WP plugin.

    I’m not using a premium add on, just the free version.

    Had been working perfectly until some point yesterday, it may have been due to the update of the plugins.

    Both seem to be causing the issue, so remain deactivated

    What do you mean with both? If you activate just only MC4WP the problem is back? Or when you active both the plugins?

    We found Javascript code was added to the form that is not part of our plugin. Hopefully removing that javascript will solve the issue.
