MailChimp plugin compatibility with WordPress 4.8.1

    Hi all — I’ve volunteered to help maintain our group’s WordPress site, and I’m new to WordPress and MailChimp. I want to upgrade the site to the current version of WordPress, and the site uses the “MailChimp List Subscribe Form” plugin, which is also out-of-date. The current version of the MailChimp plugin appears to be 1.5.7. Is that version compatible with the current version of WordPress — 4.8.1? The support page for the plugin says it’s only been tested up to WordPress 4.5.9, and evidently the MailChimp folks haven’t released a newer version.

    Thanks for the post! I apologize for the delayed response – I missed this earlier this week somehow, sorry about that! At any rate, we would expect that our plugin would be compatible with more recent WordPress versions as well – but please be sure to update us if you run into any issues or have follow up questions after upgrading.

    Hey Pearl, when you say “we would expect that our plugin would be compatible”, does that imply that anyone has done some testing? I see that the plugin hasn’t been updated in a while. So what’s the most recent version of WordPress that the plugin has been tested with? Our site is currently running v3.6, and the latest version appears to be 4.8.1. As I mentioned in my first post, I’m a WordPress & MailChimp newbie, so I don’t want to do anything that might break the currently-working site.

    Thanks for the reply. To clarify a bit, the WordPress platform can be highly customizable and certain plugins can at times cause conflicts. That being said, while we would expect the plugin to work properly, testing before going live is always recommended.?
