When I add MailChimp’s pop-up sign up form on any page of my site, the main navigation menu disappears when on mobile but is still visible while on desktop. I think there is an issue that you might need to fix.

    Hi Umairee95,

thanks for using MH Magazine lite.

The theme simply loads the popular SlickNav script as mobile navigation, that’s it. If the script doesn’t load anymore after you’ve added your plugin, then it’s possible that the plugin is interferring with the SlickNav script.

It also seems that you’ve modified code on your site or at least you are using other plugins to alter the navigation to display social icons, etc… It’s definitely possible that there are conflicts between various plugins and scripts on your site.

You may want to do some troubleshooting by disabling plugins on your site or just replace the pop-up sign up form plugin with something else that doesn’t cause issues with other scripts on your site.

Also, when it comes to pop-ups, you may want to check if the pop-up is intrusive because that may have negative effects on your site because Google doesn’t like that: Google’s new policy will penalize websites with intrusive popups.

If I remove the pop-up code, the menu works fine on mobile devices. So I think that is where this issue is. I have also noticed that the buttons — which I had set up to display my website’s social links — have stopped showing icons but the text is visible. What could be the issue? I have embedded MC’s sign up form in my sidebar. Is is possible that is causing this issue?

For us the social icons in your menu are displaying fine. You may want to clear your browser cache and also ensure that you’re not running ad blockers or so because some icons may get blocked by ad blockers.

Sure, anything is possible, but it’s not something that can be answered in general. That’s why you would need to troubleshoot and then act accordingly. If the mobile menu is showing again after you’ve removed the sign up form, then the form was the issue.

Especially if you’ve modified code, then you also may want to check if you’ve possibly introduced bugs somewhere that are now causing your issues. And if the form doesn’t work as expected, then you could try a different approach or use a different plugin for that purpose.
