Mailchimp Integration, Subscribe after Approval Only

I’m suspecting that the Mailchimp plugin is set to add them upon user activation. We don’t have any integration with Mailchimp of any sort, so it’s more a question of how to hold off on adding them until actions are taken in our plugin.

I know we have a hook that fires after a user has been approved, and the hook receives the user’s numeral ID.

The question is more how to prevent Mailchimp from acting, and then re-trigger their process on this highlighted hook afterwards.
