You can add a normal checkbox field or a terms and conditions field in the form and then in the Mailchimp integration settings, you can set conditional logic to send the data to Mailchimp only if the checkbox is checked, see this screenshot.

But conditional logic for Mailichimp is only available on pro add-on :/
So I cant use MailChimp in free version?

You can use MailChimp integration in the free version, but you cannot use the conditional logic in this case, and also you cannot map any custom field, only the default fields are available in the free version.

Sorry but I do not understand.

How can the user agree to subscribe to the newsletter? When I integrate with mailchimp will every completed form be signed up to newsletter?

With the free version, there is some limited functionality so every completed form will be signed up to the Mailchimp newsletter. You can use the double opt-in feature (see screenshot) to send users an email to confirm their subscription before adding them to the Mailchimp list instead of a checkbox confirmation.

Then it is not true that you are offering Mailchimp as a free version.
This is not in line with EU law.

The user must click the checkbox to confirm the subscription to the newsletter. Double opt-in is not enough.

So are you going to add it in the free version?

Apologies for the delayed response. We will discuss it with our team and our developers will take a deeper look at it. If possible we will add an option to not send any data if the checkbox isn’t selected.

I have taken that as a feature request but I cannot guarantee you whether this feature will be added in the future updates or not. Even if it gets implemented, it will take quite a while.
