Hi. I’m updating a subscribe form, I’ve added the GDPR fields and editing them to suit, I’ve saved the fields but I simply cannot make them show on the relevant page.

What do I actually have to do here? i’m pulling my hair out trying to make this work but I’m hitting a wall.

    Thanks!

You are creating normal fields? But the buttons to insert those fields don’t show above the form builder?

In that case, go to MailChimp for WP > Mailchimp and click the “Renew MailChimp Lists” button.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let us know!

If you are talking about the custom GDPR fields that MailChimp made:

MailChimp does not let us set those GDPR fields via the API, but instead advised us and our users to use normal interest groups. You can include those in the form as checkboxes and it will be saved in MailChimp and let you create segments based on what boxes someone checked.
If you add new interest groups it can take awhile before the button to insert them into the forms show in our plugin, to speed that up go to Mailchimp for WP > Mailchimp after creating the interest groups and click the “Renew MailChimp Lists” button to directly pull in the latest fields and lists.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let us know!

    Lap- Thanks for your response.

First response- I’ve already tried the “Renew Lists” option to no avail

Second Response- I’m a little lost here. I haven’t been using Interest Groups at all, it’s merely a subscription.

Can you explain the process a little deeper for me please? Sorry, I’m a little lost!

Thanks lots for your replies and help though. It’s much appreciated. I’m going bald at a rate of knots here right now!!

you’re not the only one, I can assure you ??

As I mentioned, the new GDPR fields are not available over the API so we can’t show/use those in our plugin, they won’t show even when you renew the lists. Renewing lists is to quickly show the interest groups after you create them without having to wait for that to be synced in the background.

Please note we are not affiliated with MailChimp.com. We are a different company “ibericode” that develops plugins such as “MailChimp for WordPress”.
For questions on how to use MailChimp, for example how to make interest groups, it’s best to contact their support.

I found this document from them: https://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/groups/getting-started-with-groups

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let us know!

OK. I think I get it.

I’ve sorted groups out (Thanks Lap) and it works if I embed the form code but I cant use the plugin for GDPR checkboxes.

Thanks for your help fella. Now I’ve got to work out quite how to style the embed code then as it works but looks hideous ??

    Thanks again

@lapzor, thanks for the reply. I was looking for a way to get the GDPR checkbox on my wordpress page, but your reply gives me confidence that it’s simply not possible.

But: Do you really think normal interest groups are an alternative? For GDPR, you’d need a timestamp when the consent was given, and that’s nothing you have in interest groups?
