    Hi Support

I’ve been using Mailchimp for Woocommerce for a few months but it’s just come to light that after your recent update (installed 15 April 2018) the plugin is no longer syncing with my site. Any products added since that update cannot be found in Mailchimp, nor can any coupon codes added since that update.

It was working perfectly but now it isn’t, so could you please help resolve this issue.

    WordPress 4.9.5
    Mailchimp for Woocommerce 2.1.5
    Woocommerce 3.3.5

    Thanks for your help.

    Adrian

Hi @chimerabooks, sorry to hear you’re having trouble; it’s odd that things have just stopped working. For now, could you try a fresh reinstall? You’ll want to do the following:

    – Delete the plugin
    – Login into MailChimp
    – Verify that the site is removed in your ‘Connected Sites’ area
    – Re-install the plugin with the latest version

If something is still off on the re-install, let me know who your hosting provider is and we’ll look to see if there’s something lower level that they may be doing to stop the queue process.

Hi @khungate – thanks for getting back to me. I can do as you suggest, but I’ve been reluctant to for fear of losing all the automated emails we’ve already set up. Surely if I uninstall and reinstall, and also remove and then reconnect our site in Mailchimp, all previous syncing will be lost and all our automated emails will have to binned and recreated – which would involve a huge amount of work as you can probably imagine.

@chimerabooks, totally understand. Yes, if you uninstalled the “connection” to those automations will be lost. At this time, there’s not a way in MailChimp to reassociate automations with updated stores.

Do you have the ability to run the plugin in CLI? That could solve your issue. See the documentation for it here if you want to give that a try.

Hi @khungate – I don’t have the ability to run in CLI, no. I don’t know code and I wouldn’t dabble in that area of the site. So what do we do now? Everything was swell, but for no apparent reason I’ve lost all the functionality I was enjoying with the plugin and Mailchimp, which is very frustrating and having adverse effects on my business.

Hi @khungate – I’ve no doubt you’re very busy, but would you please respond to me because your plugin is still refusing to work. I’ve just this morning installed your latest update, hoping that might fix the issue, but no it’s still not syncing with Mailchimp. As I said previously, everything was working perfectly, but despite me doing absolutely nothing to the settings it is now not working.

I’ve noticed that in Settings my list settings are greyed out and I cannot select them. Surely that can’t be right. Does that give you any clues as to what’s gone wrong?

Please get back to me as quickly as you can because this is really causing me and my business serious issues.

    Thank you.

@chimerabooks, apologies for the delay. If you’re unable to try the CLI version, the only workaround from our end is to perform a fresh uninstall/reinstall. I’m still very curious why things stopped all of a sudden, it almost sounds like your host may have added some sort of blocker on the queue processes used by the plugin. It may be worth a message to your provider to see if that is accurate before going the uninstall/reinstall route.

Also, the list being greyed out is expected behavior. MailChimp associates lists with store connections inside the platform in a way that is specific to automations triggering and other types of events.

Hi @khungate – I’ve passed your comment on to our hosting/developer people and I’m waiting for them to get back to me. Yesterday I installed your latest update but it’s still not syncing.

In the meantime, when I click resync the plugin appears to go through the motions, which takes about 13 minutes, but at the end of it no data has been transferred to Mailchimp. I don’t know if that gives you any other clues.

This is getting desperate now. My business is definitely suffering, and what’s so infuriating is that I did not change or interfere with the plugin whatsoever. One day it was working fine, the next it wasn’t. I really need this sorted out urgently.

    Thanks

@chimerabooks, when you say “go through the motions” what does that mean exactly? Do you see the sync process initiate in the logs or in the UI? If it’s in the logs, are there any error messages?

Who is your hosting provider? The reason why I ask is that we’re seeing some information pop up in our GitHub ticket area related to some providers needing specific settings enabled for the queue (which controls the syncs/feeds) to work properly.

    (@chimerabooks)

Hi @khungate – when I click on resync in the Sync tab UI I get the message at the top of the screen telling me the syncing is in progress and may take a few minutes, and that I can refresh the page any time if I want to. I tend to leave it alone to give it plenty of time to process the sync, and then when I do refresh I get the following Sync Information:

    Account Connected: n/a
    List Connected: n/a
    Products Synced: 0
    Orders Synced: 0

My hosting provider is a company in Brighton, UK, called Dotsquares. I don’t know if that helps you any.

@chimerabooks, thanks for the follow-up information. And there’s nothing at all in the logs?

    Thread Starter chimerabooks

    (@chimerabooks)

Hi @khungate – I didn’t really check into the logs as they’re pretty much a foreign language to me. However, just looking a little deeper I found the following, which seems to be related to the last resync I did (which failed):

    2018-05-15T07:49:19+00:00 NOTICE sync.started :: Starting Sync :: Tue, May 15, 2018 7:49 AM
2018-05-15T07:49:20+00:00 ERROR product_sync.error :: addStoreProduct :: 3169 :: Resource Not Found :: The requested resource could not be found. on 1287 in /home/chimerabooks/public_html/wp-content/plugins/mailchimp-for-woocommerce/includes/api/class-mailchimp-api.php

There are hundreds of lines like this, and they end with:

2018-05-15T18:40:04+00:00 NOTICE order_submit.completed :: Done with the order sync.
    2018-05-15T18:40:04+00:00 NOTICE sync.completed :: Finished Sync :: Tue, May 15, 2018 6:40 PM

I hope the above will help you get to the cause of what’s gone wrong.

@chimerabooks does your sync info page always show Account Connected: n/a and List Connected: n/a? That means we can’t communicate with MailChimp’s API to grab your account info / list name. That’s odd. What do you see when you are on the List Settings tab? Do you see any text at all in the dropdown box, or is it just a grey disabled selector with NO text?

Have you verified in your MailChimp account that the calls being made to your API are succeeding or failing? Have you worked with the support directly? If you can send a PM to me I’ll see about pushing this request a little further for your account – but i’ll need your MailChimp account email to do that first.

Hi – my sync info page has always shown account and list connected n/a since I realised there’s an issue. Before that I didn’t pay too much attention, so I can’t recall what it showed then.

I have contacted Mailchimp support directly, yes, and they’re doing some investigating but I’m waiting to hear any more from them.

I’m not sure how to PM you, but if you can tell me how I’m happy to give you my Mailchimp account email if you think it might help sort this out.

Hi – just to let you know I took the plunge this morning and uninstalled/reinstalled Mailchimp for Woocommerce and it’s back working perfectly again. And I’ve got to check thoroughly, but it looks like all my previously created automated emails are still intact.

So thanks for your help; as it stands at the moment the issue appears to have been resolved.

    Best regards

Sounds good @chimerabooks, I realize that wasn’t the optimal solution. For some reason, it seems like your store got disassociated with your list somehow as @ryanhungate mentioned. Something like that is definitely not something that the plugin would do on its own, so please keep an eye out for external factors that could cause that in the future. External factors could be other plugins, your host or possibly a theme modification.
