MAILCHIMP ERROR: (250) MMERGE3 must be provided – Please enter a value

Still getting this error. I have checked my Mailchimp API, account and the settings within your plugin within my WordPress installation. There is no way to map values from your plugin/WP into Mailchimp. Without that, this plugin will not work.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi bobteree,

Error 250 is returned from mailchimp server when you set a merge var as required for registration on your list, and a corresponding value for this field is not provided during registration.

Anyway, free version of mailchimp plugin does not support merge vars, and let only users resgiter to a list with their email.

If you want to handle merge vars during registration on checkout, you can consider to buy our premium version, that bundles this feature, within many other

Here you can find more informations about our premium version, and here you can try an admin demo of the plugin

Hope you can consider to become a premium user! ??
I’ll mark this topic as resolved

So I paid for the upgrade and went through all of the settings. I see how you support mapping fields from a widget (which I have implemented in my right side bar). You can see this live here: https://greenmountaingenerators.com/

I also created this page thinking that the name of the variables was what you required, but this was just a simple form builder: https://greenmountaingenerators.com/test-shortcode-yit-mailchimp-premium/

What I need to do and what I was under the impression was that the premium version would let you map WooCommerce variables (e.g. name, email, etc.) to mailchimp values. So that when a user is created in my WooCommerce store, they will get automatically added to Mailchimp. But this is not happening. The users still are not being created in Mailchimp:( And the mapping doesn’t seem to be relevant to WooCommerce, just YIT’s own form and form-widget, which is not what I need.

Could the issue be related to whether the user checks out as a real user (creates account) versus just a guest? In either case, we must collect their email address and would like it added to Mailchimp.

    Hi again,

the plugin maps customers information on MailChimp as soon as they proceed to checkout, not for simple registration to the site.

If your customers who are completing an order are not registered in your MailChimp lists, then, this might depend on a bug of the plugin, that will be certainly solved by our developers in support desk, while if you refer to registration to the store (but they haven’t placed any order) no data will be mapped on MailChimp.

For any other info, do not hesitate to contact us!

This is 100% about my customers who checkout through WooCommerce for WordPress. I have the latest software updates for all of my plugins and WooCommerce and your plugin: YITH WooCommerce Mailchimp

This is NOT resolved. I purchased the premium version as I thought it was a mapping issue of WooCommerce/Wordpress values to my Mailchimp account via their API, which is functioning and it does nothing to solve this.

Question: Do you support users that may check out as Guests as well as those who create formal accounts? In both cases, the user information gathered is the same (name, email, address, etc.). So it must be stored somewhere within WooCommerce either way. The user simply chooses not to create a password. So user accounts are created either way; one simply does not have a password as a login credential.

So the #1 feature that the free and premium version claim, does not work at all…Users are NOT created in my Mailchimp account. Here is the error that I continue to receive even though this user is indeed in my WooCommerce/WP database:

MAILCHIMP ERROR: (250) MMERGE3 must be provided – Please enter a value

This value in Mailchimp is for the NAME of the user. It is required by me. This latest error, which was for my latest customer, is for a user who checks out as a GUEST within WooCommerce. Do you support Guests in addition to users who set a password? I can confirm, though, that both Guests and users who create accounts are not added to my Mailchimp account.

Does anyone else have this problem?

All I can think of is your plugin does not support passing the NAME of a new user to Mailchimp. Can you detail what values can and are passed to Mailchimp? Is it simply ONLY the user’s email? What about Name, Address, etc.? This is an opaque area of your plugin. It’s not clear what is passed to Mailchimp. I will attempt to deactivate the “requirement” to pass the NAME value (i.e. MMERGE3 value) and see if users get created. I will report back.

    Hi again,

I’m really sorry for the issue you’re encountering
Anyway, premium version of the plugin can send any checkout information to mailchimp, mapping it on a previously set merge field.

    Besides, it supports guest checkout
