• Hello,

Advice needed. I had a mailchimp pop up on my website which worked fine (without plugin – I was just embedding the code they gave me in html widget as directed). I changed my theme and now things seem to have changed. Pop up no longer working.

When I go to the subsriber pop-up section on Mailchimp, it says my site is no longer connected. When I try to connect my site using the code they provide and put this into header html, it says “Uh oh, we couldn’t connect your site. Check your code and try again.”

I’ve tried including the code through theme editor, and separately through an insert header plugin.

Sign ups still work if I use a plugin like MC4WP or Jotform, so it’s just the pop-up connection which doesn’t seem to work. I can live without a pop up if needed but I’m just wondering what has changed (and if it’s potentially part of a bigger issue I’m not aware of). Any advice welcome!

    Thanks
    Olivia

You’ve apparently replaced the pop up with Jotform, so it’s difficult to evaluate what the problem might be. I get that you don’t want to leave a broken pop up on your site, I’m just explaining why I can only guess at the problem. There’s currently a console error on the page. Even if it’s unrelated to the pop up, it can prevent the pop up from working.

    ReferenceError: lazySizes is not defined
This can happen when scripts get loaded out of proper order. Fixing this error may not fix the pop up, but it should be fixed all the same.
