    Hi
I did do a print screen but I cant see a way to attach it so I will try to explain. I use the mailchimp addon for Paid Memberships Pro. There are subscriber lists but also this
    “PMPro is installed.

For each level below, choose the list(s) that a new user should be subscribed to when they register.”
Does this mean they are autosubscribed because I think one of the options is highlighted and I cant find a way to unhighlight it in order to be GDPR compliant
    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

I trust you are well, for future threads like this – please can you post it to the Add Ons WordPress support forum.

I will try and answer you here, please note that we are not a law firm and I would suggest in following up with the a law firm regarding this.

What I would do is the following:

    1. Remove the All Users List or Levels List’s selected.
    2. Under the “Opt-in” list please choose the following lists you would like users to select to “Opt-in” (Users will need to select a checkbox on checkout to be added).
    3. Please ensure “double opt-in” is enabled, user’s will still have to confirm their registration after checkout.

This should be enough for GDPR compliance, but I would still recommend in reaching out to the relevant law firm for advice.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks Andrew
I think you might be missunderstanding the question

This isnt a legal question its a technical feature question. Legally is simple, they should not be opted in without their approval but at the moment the technology automatically subscribes them. So I just need to know how to fix that.
1)The reason I messaged you is I cant see a way to remove those lists. I have to have the lists in paid memberships pro but they are automatically populated in the addin. With the autosubscription option there is no option for me to select they dont register for any, the way it is set up one of the lists has to be highlighted.
    2) There is a checkbox but it doesnt matter if they dont select it they are still opted in. Ive tested it myself
    3) I will set this up but if we can fix the problems in 1 and 2, I dont need to make the process a double selection.
There’s no need for more legal advice on my question and if I had the money to pay for a lawyer I would be a very happy man and would have somebody else dealing with all of this for me. You are always really helpful so if you are able to just help me with the technical aspects, i would appreciate it, Thanks, Andrew

You need to deselect the lists from “All members” as well as the “Membership Level” lists wherever selected. Only lists within “Opt-in Lists” will require a user to opt-in.

To deselect a list you may hold CTRL + LEft Click, this should deselect the list from the settings page. Please _only_have_ the Opt In lists selected with double opt-in enabled.
