If you want that to be clickable, you will need to change it to:

<a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a>

That’s what I have put I thought…

I can only see the <span></span> element.

Ah right, in the Appearance section and Custom Footer Text it reads: [email protected]

So, it’s being changed somewhere…

Contact the theme author.

Some themes won’t accept html from the theme custom footer editors. You’ll need to add the code itself to the theme’s ‘footer page’ or…

If you can run Widgets in your footer you might add the html there via the widget selector.

My choice would be for the theme to allow those changes or else modify the actual footer code. You’ll need the theme author to guide you through that through FTP most likely.
