• Mail tab ERROR [your-email]

    Hi all!

I’ve found a bug in the plugin. If I disable the plugin.. the error no longer exists!!

In the description will be described:
    —-
    Contact Form 7 Multi-Step Forms
    Description
Only the final step will send an email. To include fields from your other forms simply enter the mail-tags from the other forms. For example if your first form has the field your-email you can include [your-email] in the Mail tab on the last form.
    —-
    But that does not work!!

I have in the first form several input fields. Also the field your-email is present.
In the second form i used 2 fields [AGB-OK] [B2B-OK] only.

The contact-form-7 Mail-Tab has a Error “This field has syntax errors” in field “To”!
The input in the field = [your-email]

I noticed that offered only 2 variables!!
Use Mail(2): In the following fields, you can use these mail-tags:
    [AGB-OK][B2B-OK]

What am I doing wrong … or is this a bug ?

    regards Ralph

    sorry for the late reply.

What you have found is a limitation of this plugin. The Contact Form 7 plugin only knows of mail-tags in the form you are currently editing. The “In the following fields, you can use these mail-tags…” will only show mail-tags in the current form. Similarly, it sees a mail-tag not from the current form so it flags it as an error.

Currently there is no way to detect which forms are related to each other so this plugin cannot tell CF7 to allow mail-tags from other forms.

You can safely ignore the errors as long as you test your form and make sure it works.
