Mail Protocol only selection is POP3

    It says next to the POP3 dropdown: IMAP/IMAP-SSL/POP3-SSL unavailable

    I’m on Postie version v1.7.32 and I have the latest WordPress installed.

    When I test the configurations, this is what I get:

    Your PHP version is ancient (5.2 was released in 2006) which is the main issue. If looks like you are on GoDaddy. You can contact their support and ask them to move your account to server with PHP 5.6 or better.

    You can try upgrading to Postie 1.8.5 (released today)

    Also WordPress 4.5.4 is not the most current. 4.6.1 is.

    Thank you, Wayne. I updated WordPress to the most current version and I also updated the Postie plugin but now my site is down. I’m getting this message:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/b/u/l/bulkhosting/html/StephenBox/wp-content/plugins/postie/lib/pCurlConnection.php on line 86

    Can you help with this? I also called GoDaddy, so if the Postie update (after the site is fixed) won’t fix my issue with the plugin, I will have to move my site to a new server plan.

    I’ve gone through the code and removed a couple of items that require PHP 5.3. I’ll have another release today.

    1.8.7 has been released and should fix this issue.

    Since I can’t get into the dashboard, is my only option to open FileZilla and replace your plugin there?

    You can just delete the Postie folder then install it through the dashboard. All your settings will be retained. Sorry for the trouble.

    Still didn’t work, so I installed Jetpack, which worked. Thanks for trying to fix this for me. Maybe next time.
