MAIL FROM causing problems

  • My email server rejects emails sent from WordPress because the MAIL FROM <Wordpress@serverIP> is not a valid email address. I can’t find anywhere where I can change the address values so that I can use a real and valid email address. I have looked through posts and found no answers. Help?

    Added info: when a new user registers, WordPress sends an email with the user’s assigned password. But this email never leaves the server due to the MAIL FROMM problem.
