• Hello together,

I found out that on ALL pages that use the sydney-contact-widget for the footer the Mail is encoded in something like
    <a href=”mailto:scotty@pscfitters.co&#109

Since there are some plugins, that crawl the text on the website, for example translatepress, this stuffs the database. There are some workarounds for the crawling plugins like to exclude selectors, but the source of the problem lies in the mailencoding.

Is there an option to stop the encoding?
You find it for example under chrome, if you go to view-source:https://thisisthedomain.com

    Best regards!

  • @thalakus I am sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing with the widget.

I did checking with my test site and the issue doesn’t seem to occur.

I checked your site and it won’t open on my Chrome and other web browsers. Perhaps there is IP blocking enabled from your server side.

Can you try removing the widget, re-enabling it, and entering the respective values? Let me know whether it helps or not.

    Regards,
    Kharis

    Hi @kharisblank

please check the source code in chrome like this:
    view-source:https://pscfitters.com/
on ALL Sydney pages that I found on the Internet it’s the same phenomenon when they have the contact info enabled

You will just see it if you go full screen sourcecode in chrome.

go for example the link mentioned above and search for “mailto”. Then you will find the encoded lines

The user will never see this and it all looks fine. But it’s encoded in the sourcecode and that causes troubles with some plugins.

Please let me know if you found it

    Best regards!!
