Apologies if I’m missing something, I think your plug in and the sync thing are great, exactly what I need…

However when I’m starting a new list based entirely on my wordpress user list it won’t import the username field (which for me is the crucial membership number for the organisation I’m working with on this).

Is there a reason for this? I’ve mapped the first name and last name and email and other data but despite it appearing to match and find the correct META TAG in wordpress it won’t import the actual username, so I just have a blank field.

Is it something to do with the fact that usernames can’t be changed?

Any idea for a work around?

Thanks again for the great work, otherwise it’s pretty amazing.

    James

    Hello James,

Thank you for your kind words. Can you please let me know if you have created a field in your MailChimp.com list where the username from your WordPress website needs to be added?

Also, can you please check either on the sync page or the “MailChimp for WP > Others” page and let me know if any errors are listed?

Hi Harish, yes I created a username field in MC to map the WP username to, called username on both sides. No error messages in the logs.

As it’s doing the import the log is showing:

It pulls in email, first name and last name but the username field is blank in Mailchimp.

any further thoughts? I’ve tried various things, including naming the field the exact same name, a different name, specifying number rather than text as the field content…

I wonder if it might be incompatible with one of the other plug ins I use for managing members.

If you had a moment I’d be happy to give you my logins to WP and MC so you can see it for yourself.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I’m sorry to tell you that logging in to your WordPress Admin (especially for User Sync) is not within our free support scope. If you have a Premium license, please let us know your login details via the Premium support channel so we can further debug this issue for you.

I suggest trying to “hard” set the field trough some custom code as the next step in debugging this problem, just to see if that would work.

    Hope that helps.
