Mage.php path

Hi,
I’ve checked through the forum to see if I can sort this and I just can’t get it to work. I just keep getting the ‘invalid URL’ error no matter what I try. I added the code to the root to find the root path and then added the folders that followed. I made sure that the path was Mage.php and not mage.php…please could you check it out for me? This is the path I am using /usr/local/apache/public_html//htdocs/smartspot/app/Mage.php
