• Stupidly I tried to delete something in the code, and now can’t get into my site at all. Get this error
HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

I am willing to reload the theme… if only I could get to the site. How do I get beyond that error message?
    site is epimediums.com

  • FTP into the site and undo what you did. That built in code editor is dangerous. Don’t use it.

I guess I’m in over my head. Not quite sure how to FTP into the site. Ugh.

You need an FTP client like FileZilla— hands down the best in my book. You need the hostname, username and password provided by your host– not the same as your WordPress hostname, username, and password. This is not part of WordPress at all. That is why it works when WordPress doesn’t. If you don’t know your hostname, username and password, you will have to ask your host.

If you have a server backend like cPanel you can get in that way too.
