• We’re migrating a db from a site hosted at Media Temple. The SQL file has Mac Roman encoding, not the UTF-8 we normally end up with when migrating from every other host we’ve migrated from.

Consequently we can’t import it into the UTF-8 db we create for it. We can change the file encoding to UTF-8 but then certain characters get goofed up – like apostrophes.

Anyone have advice for either a) forcing/fixing this to generate a UTF-8 file, or b) converting a Mac Roman file to UTF-8 and getting the characters right?

    Thanks!
