• So after a lot of trial and error I eventually got PHP5, MySQL 4.1.20 installed on my PowerBook using these steps. I needed PHP5 to work through his book, however when I downloaded WordPress I got the following error:

Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for WordPress.

I’ve tried putting WordPress in my Library/WebServer/Documents/ folder as well as my /Sites/ folder. I’ve double checked my database password and I created and recreated the WordPress database schema.

This is a fresh install of WordPress, I don’t think I’ve ever ran it on my Powerbook. I want to do some testing and creating of Themes that I don’t want affecting my ‘live’ hosted deployment. I’m pretty sure that is using PHP4.something.

WordPress is suppose to work with PHP5 and I have MySql installed and running but am using MySQLi is that an issue?

Any advice? I’ve google’d and searched this forum already along with a lot of trial and error.

    Muskie
