• i built this site for a music venue and used wordpress to handle the dynamic content. Each box on the homepage, or upcoming event is a wordpress post. The site has been working fine, but recently I noticed that any links that are within a post don’t work past the 4th or 5th post displayed.

    here’s the page https://akronmusica.com

the only thing i can think of is if a plug-in is interfering, but the only plug-in’s i’m running are The Future is Now and Wp-cache.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? We need to get this resolved ASAP.

  • What bit is not working? On the page you link to I can see a number of links out that are working.

Things to try are temporarily disabling your plugins and switching to the default theme. If things then work you know that it is an issue with either the theme or plugins.

All of the header and main navigation links work, but in the 5th post displayed on the landing page (the Ra Ra Riot Post) the Ticket link won’t work. After that post, no ticket links work and none of the title links work either that are supposed to take you to the single page for each post. (Each block on the landing page is a post)

ok, so I disabled the theme and the links work, but that doesn’t really narrow much down for me. I coded the theme myself, but i can’t for the life of me figure out what would cause only certain links to stop working completely. They aren’t even recognized as links by the browser (when you hover over the link it doesn’t recognize it as a link)

I can’t pinpoint exactly what it is, but I’m certain it’s related to the flash object.

I’ve seen this before where the flash player ‘layer’ positions itself over links on the page.

hey huggie. i think you’re right. i tried removing the flash object and the links worked. now if only i could figure out why exactly it’s doing that. hmm

The site I saw it on had a flash banner that expanded over some of the content when you moused over it.

When you moved the mouse off the banner, it retracted, but the links underneath were no longer clickable.

    Is yours doing anything similar?

no the flash object has a fixed width and height. i know it’s something that my style sheet is doing to it, because when i use the default template the flash player is still there but the links work. something in my style sheet is causing the flash object to extend outside where it should

i am having the same problem!

    https://www.rockabyebabymusic.com/blog

the links at the bottom under “links” work fine. but the links under “recent posts” do not work!

(this is just one of MANY problems with this blog btw – if you know why it looks like crap in IE v.s. FF, PLEASE let me know)

the links at the bottom under “links” work fine. but the links under “recent posts” do not work!

I was experiencing the same problem. The new post links under other categories are working fine, but the one under “recent posts” is not working. When I put the mouse over the link, it doesn’t even show the link at the bottom bar. I’ve tried to switch to the WP default theme, same problem.

Have you found out what cause it? Anyone else know how to resolve this issue?

    Michelle
